Invitation to Afrobarometer Global Taxation Data Release

You are cordially invited to attend the fifth global release of Afrobarometer's data on taxation and fiscal management in Africa, which tracks the attitudes of 51,605 African citizens.

The data will highlight popular attitudes towards taxation and governments’ effectiveness in using revenue, giving officials accomplishments to brag about as well as targets for future work. The release will also compare Nigerian attitudes to those of greater Africa.

The release event, which will commence at 9 am March 5 at the Best Western Plus Hotel 12 Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos will include debate and brainstorming about how citizens see taxation and the tax agencies across Africa.  Holding the taxation discussion of citizens’ attitudes on taxation in Lagos is recognition of the volume of economic activities going on in the city and its role as a leader on matters of taxation and fiscal management in Africa.

Afrobarometer surveys are based on nationally representative samples.  These 34-country results therefore represent the views of approximately three-quarters (76%) of the continent’s population.
Join us for the release of results of this unprecedented Africa-wide survey.
